Religion

As we grow older (and run out of answers and time), religion looks better and better. It doesn’t offer answers, but it does offer consolation.

Science

Science as a modern religion: with same efficient explanations.

Jesus

If he was alive today, Jesus would be probably hospitalized in some mental institution.

Ideologists

The main ideologists of all the wars could be found in churches, mosques, synagogues, etc.

Formal religion was always on my blind side: most of this is due to my socialist-atheist upbringing, and also to the fact that there isn’t any proof of whatever religions are talking about. However, I always believed that the human spirit is limited, that human progress is happening within pre-defined boundaries, and thus there are things that aren’t given to the human spirit to know, therefore, we shouldn’t write/think/contemplate such things. I believe that this is faith, at its core.

Natural disasters

Natural disasters are God’s wrath, angered that he lost control over his life’s work.

Similarity

Entire science is based on axioms, basic postulates that cannot be either proved or disproved. In this aspect, science is very similar to religion.

Limitation

Formal religion was never a strong suit for me: I attribute that to my communist-socialist upbringing, and also to the fact that there aren’t any valid, scientific proofs of anything that religion is talking about. However, I’ve always believed that human possibilities are limited, and that progress is happening in a limited sphere: there are things that weren’t given to humans to comprehend, so, we shouldn’t think, write, or contemplate about them, since it’s pointless. I believe that this is being religious, in some deeper, more intimate way.
