As someone who has lived in both, I’d say that socialism and capitalism are the same. They’re both class systems and ideologies designed to subdue/exploit the masses. The means of doing that are slightly different, but it’s just a cosmetic difference.
It’s surprising that socialism failed, it had all the pre-requirements to succeed: workers in charge, manufacturing without profit (they could sell for less and be very competitive), etc. It seems that the problem is in human nature.
