On my 30th birthday, I had a strong feeling that I’d reached a mid-point in my life (or was it a third? Can’t remember clearly). I’ve changed country (came to the US), or – better yet – civilization, the youth was behind me, a really boring and tedious part of my life had just begun. I’m not sure whether that was the consequence of my coming to the US, or it would happen anyhow.

Totalitarian Country
Composite nations
So-called “composite nations” e.g. Nations where the majority of the population consists of immigrants (US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada), either aren’t nations at all, or are nations “par excellence”. Clarification: residents of these countries don’t belong to the same ethnic groups, races, religions, etc., but, when the Chinese says that he/she is an American, it sounds more convincing than when, for example, a Bosnian says that he/she is German.

How to get rich in America?
One of my acquaintances (hmm, there are people like that) told me this: “I would go to America only to get rich”. Since neither she nor I have been there at the time, I took this as an ignorant attitude. However, later, through experience, I became convinced that she was right: but I haven’t gotten rich yet – I don’t know what I’m still waiting for.
The Worst
Reversal

Another friend of mine has this theory: it would be great if humans’ life goes in reverse. First, you are retired for 20 years or so, don’t do much, and enjoy life. Then, for the next 40 years, you’re working, but not too hard, since you’re not concerned about retirement. After that, next 20 years, you go to school, chase girls, etc. Next 7-8 years, you’re just playing, somebody else is taking care of you. In the end, you simply disappear and, through the embryo become – nothing!
