Responsibility

How nice is to live without responsibility towards other human beings!

Progress

A measure of human progress – compared to animals – is that, at least, we are not eating each other anymore. The next step, to stop killing each other, was never achieved.

Surplus

At one point in “Open Veins of Latin America” Eduardo Galeano states that “the original 13 states of the US are basically built by human surplus from Europe”. How true! And it’s still the case.

Virus

By design, people were meant to gather berries, eat, sleep, procreate, and – that’s that. Everything else can only be explained as a consequence of some unknown viral infection.

Quality

He had lots of qualities. That, however, didn’t make him a quality human being.

Need

Man has a need to invent new and news needs. What an insatiable animal!

Pig

Man feels pleasure when excreting and when eating. In short, self-righteous pig.

Local-Global

The simple fact that there are so many different languages implies that humans are a local, not a global phenomenon.

Entire human existence, according to one theory, can be explained by the need to restore a balance: if we’re hungry, we eat, if we’re thirsty, we drink, etc. However, what motivates us, what puts us in motion, is imbalance. Once we acquire a temporary balance, we become complacent and inactive. That’s why all religious descriptions of Paradise look boring.

Plants & Animals

Plants are wise and contemplative. Animals are hasty and stupid. Humans included.
