Objectivity

Entire science is based upon several consensuses: in the past, some people sat together and made agreements: 1+1=2, there are 10 digits; these are letters, these numbers, etc. And then we call it objective.

Balance

Entire human existence, according to one theory, can be explained by the need to restore a balance: if we’re hungry, we eat, if we’re thirsty, we drink, etc. However, what motivates us, what puts us in motion, is imbalance. Once we acquire a temporary balance, we become complacent and inactive. That’s why all religious descriptions of Paradise look boring.

I hate dentists!

M. Houellebecq says in “Whatever”: “In general I hate dentists; I take them to be exceedingly venal creatures whose only goal in life is to wrench out the most teenth possible and buy themselves a Mercedes with a sunroof.”

Virgin

If you haven’t had sex for a while, you’ll become a virgin again.

Counting

Humans would be better off if they stopped counting years.

Civilized

To be civilized means not to be vindictive.

Not bad at all

If I were born in the US, I’d probably go to ivy-league college, I’d be a quarterback on a local football team, marry my high-school sweetheart, get a house, two cars, 2.5 kids, etc. It wouldn’t be such a bad life, after all.

Good ‘ol times

All my life, after I did some mischief of sorts, people were telling me that that was not what they expect from me. Good ‘ol times!

Chekhov

A.P. Chekhov, one of my favorites, has a short story titled “The Man in a Case”. If you haven’t read it so far, please read it immediately. That way you’d understand a bit better the things that I write about here.

Process

Waking up after a night of heavy drinking, I have a feeling that my body is dispersed over a great surface, and my organs are slowly starting to come together and form myself again. I was always disappointed by the end result of that process.
