Sweet death

S. Prokofiev’s grandfather, according to legend, died at 97 by falling from the ladder that he used to visit his mistress. What a sweet death!

Predeterminism

If I were to be born again, I’d probably make the same mistakes. Does this speak of the predeterminism of life or about my inability to learn from my own experience?

I’ve read somewhere that there is research in the US on the artificial prolonging of human lives, thus conquering the phenomenon of death. Aside from the fact that the whole concept is impossible, highly unnatural, and immoral, one shouldn’t be surprised a bit: there are other highly unnatural and immoral things that came from the US before.

Charming

His entire life he was faking it. Then death came along, and he couldn’t fake it anymore. Too bad: he was such a charming man.

Defensive

To be on the defensive all your life means that life was overwhelming and that others didn’t let you live. Or, you just imagined it.

Disappointment

J.S. Bach wanted, as a kid, to become a military officer, A. Einstein a pilot, M. Lermontov – A. Pushkin, etc., and none of them become what they wanted. How disappointing their lives must have been!

Curiosity

Curious are those who didn’t go through much in life.

Life and death

Life and death aren’t opposites, but complementary.

Eternal life

Most people wish for eternal life. What a hell that would be!! Most of us don’t deserve the time that’s given to us.

Escape

In my opinion, jails aren’t necessary: could anyone of us escape, after all?
