Optical illusion

While young, we tend to think that life is endless and full of opportunities. It takes getting old to realize how big of an illusion that is.

Same difference

While living in Yugoslavia, the main problem was not having any money. Now, living in the US, my main problem is whether I’m going to have enough money. It feels the same.

As a student, I was keeping notes very diligently, especially in philosophy and psychology classes. The problem was that I couldn’t read them later, since a have very bad handwriting. It took me a long time to stop taking them.

Poetry

When I was younger, I was writing poetry (like all other sensitive souls on this planet). Needless to say, I wasn’t much of a poet. But, that wasn’t the reason I stopped writing poetry: the real reason is that I’ve realized that I wasn’t going to intentionally limit the room for my thoughts, by putting them into pre-defined forms.

Comics

When I was a kid, my biggest literary influences were comic books (those cheap ones: Marvel, superheroes, etc). I think that I even learned to read by reading those. And they say that comics are trivial!

Dawn

Seeing dawn from the right side, that’s living correctly. I was always filled with pleasure by going to sleep when other people are getting ready to go to work.

Good reason

A good reason for hanging out with people is to learn things that I can later use for these aphorisms.

Portraits

In order not to offend them, a good portraitist is painting people the way they perceive themselves, not as they are in reality. Thus portraits of famous people aren’t valid historical documents.
