No empathy

If only one Christmas sale doesn’t pan out, that would create a huge economic crisis in the US. I can’t even imagine what bombing them by a hundred-fold superior military country would do (e.g. US bombing Serbia). There’s no empathy in this cruel world.

Alternative

If all first-generation immigrants were to return to their respective countries of origin, the US would economically collapse immediately. What keeps them in here is the lack of an alternative.

Predeterminism

If I were to be born again, I’d probably make the same mistakes. Does this speak of the predeterminism of life or about my inability to learn from my own experience?

Alien life-forms

If a man from late XIX by any chance wakes up today, he’d think that he’s on another planet. But, enough about alien life forms.

Miserable

Even if I were born rich, I’d be in the same spot that I’m in today.

Alarm

If it wasn’t for my alarm clock (the loudest I could find), I doubt that I’d ever wake up again.

Plagiarism

Is copying somebody’s literary form also plagiarism as copying content? If it is, I’m in big trouble then.
